The IWS offers a wide variety of solutions for surface-sensitive processes to join materials in multi-material-design. Support is available in the development of customized processes focused on productive and automated joining based on our vast material-specific expertise and experience with various pre-processing technologies used in industry.
In addition to our activities in the development of efficient joining technologies, we establish and coordinate projects in the field of fiber-reinforced composite lightweight design; these projects bring together our knowledge in the disciplines of laser micro processing, ablation and cutting, chemical surface engineering and joining.
