Mechanical characterization of an adhesive bulk sample
To characterize the adherence strength values, mechanical parameters are determined by destructive testing using a multi-axis material testing machine. In this study, both uniaxial load cases, such as tension, pressure, bending, or torsion, as well as multi-axial overlaps in the form of tension/pressure-torsion loads/ stresses, can be measured. Available conditioning chambers also make it possible to determine the strength values influenced by temperature and humidity.
Three-dimensional deformations at the surface can be recorded during the test and then analyzed in combination with an optical measuring system based on gray value correlation.
