Laser materials processing is one of the institute's core competencies: We develop processes and systems for laser welding, cutting, hardening, coating and structuring. We also implement our expertise and the many years of experience of our experts in the development of additive manufacturing processes, functional surfaces or in beam shaping. The accuracy advantages of lasers are also utilized in optical sensors and optical metrology. With the help of non-contact measuring instruments, surfaces can be measured and analyzed with precision down to the nanometer.
