Nanofair 2010, 6th - 7th July 2010, International Congress Center Dresden, Germany

Dieser Herausforderung stellten sich sieben Unternehmen und zwei Institute der Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft und initiierten ein gemeinsames Forschungsprojekt mit Namen "Pegasus". Die im Juli 2009 gestartete und vom BMBF im 5. Energieforschungsprogramm geförderte Aktivität hat eine vierjährige Laufzeit und ein Gesamtvolumen von 16,8 Mio. Euro.

Diamonds, secure software, medications – at Fraunhofer USA, the research portfolio covers a vast array of topics. Exactly 15 years ago, Germany's Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Europe's largest institution for applied research, established the new subsidiary. Today six Centers are closely cooperating with top universities in the US to engineer solutions that industry can apply to their everyday business practices. On October 22 Fraunhofer USA celebrates its anniversary in Washington DC.

The Ministry funds marketing steps, integrated into an overall concept, aiming at the internationalization of topical networks.

For decades, economical energy handling has been a decisive element for a lasting and efficient production. Systems engineering as well as a variety of other technologies represent a notable potential to make processes more energy-efficient and cost-effective. Within the framework of the research project"energy-efficient joining and production engineering"the research infrastructure of the IWS Dresden could be remarkably improved by the financial support of the State Saxony. Thus a profound platform could be created for the development of the latest energy-efficient joining and production engineering.

Fraunhofer -Immer etwas Besonderes

„Ganz klein ganz groß“ – unter diesem Motto starteten das Fraunhofer IWS Dresden und die IABG ihre von der Sächsischen Aufbaubank (SAB) geförderten Aktivitäten im Bereich Nanopartikel mit dem Projektvorhaben „piano“ (pulverförmige nanoskalige Feststoffe).

Cars with low fuel consumption are presently in great demand. Weight reduction is one efficient pos-sibility to reduce the fuel consumption. Manufactures and the environment benefit from the material savings. The scientists of the IWS have developed a welding technology, which enable new design possibilities for the light weight construction.
