Simulation – Laser Processes and Components

You value the laser as a flexible and versatile tool but wonder how to optimize efficiency and process quality further. One possibility is the simulation of laser processes and components. This approach enhances the ability to predict process quality, accelerates the development of new laser processes, and simplifies the adaptation of existing processes in production. We aim to provide an overview of various simulation possibilities, ranging from temperature field calculations to laser build-up process simulations. Additionally, we will highlight specific cases in laser material processing, including how modeling gas flows optimizes processing heads and chambers and how the FEM-based laser-welded components design prevents cracks from the outset.

Lunch-to-Lunch-Workshop in Dresden

Our esteemed experts and external partners will demonstrate the advantages of simulation and modeling in laser material processing. We cordially invite you to Dresden, where we will present the possibilities of simulation in lectures and illustrative lab tours, providing you with a unique opportunity to learn from the best in the field.

What does the workshop involve?

At the beginning of the workshop, you will gain insight into the state-of-the-art simulation of laser processes and components. In numerous presentations, you will learn about the possibilities available today to simulate the laser process, the corresponding secondary processes such as powder and gas flows, and finally, the effects of laser processing on the component. Guided lab tours will provide insights into how simulation translates into practical work.
